The blast furnace cooling stave protects furnace shells by transferring heat through cast iron cooling staves designed for key blast furnace zones, extending equipment life.
Product Description
The blast furnace stave cooler serves as an intermediary cooling component installed between the brick lining and furnace shell in blast furnaces. Its primary function is to reduce thermal stress on the furnace shell by directing heat outward via surface cooling, which helps maintain structural integrity across furnace zones. Procurement managers and OEM buyers can consider this equipment for applications requiring heat management within metallurgical furnaces.
Manufactured from cast iron cooling stave grades including EN GJL 150-250, EN GJS 450-10, and EN GJS 400-18, these components are tailored for placement in different blast furnace sections like the tuyere area, belly, bosh, and body. The design incorporates cold bending cooling pipes cast into the stave body, enabling adaptability to complex furnace geometries. These specifications support service lifespans extending beyond 15 years for use in industrial blast furnace environments.
Suitable for furnace maintenance, retrofit projects, or new equipment installations, this blast furnace cooling stave product offers heat transfer management critical for furnace longevity. It fits well in commercial-scale operations that require controlled thermal protection at various furnace points. Bulk procurement or customization can accommodate specific furnace designs, aligning with sourcing needs for metallurgical cooling equipment suppliers.
The design of the blast furnace cooling stave emphasizes compatibility with a range of furnace zones, enhancing fit for different operational requirements. Using cast iron cooling stave materials allows for sourcing consistent with industry expectations for durability. The inclusion of integrated cold bending cooling pipes supports adaptability to furnace structures, relevant for OEM or ODM applications requiring precise geometries.
This product’s configuration facilitates extended service life, which may reduce maintenance intervals and replacement frequency. Its sourcing as part of metallurgical cooling equipment aligns with procurement strategies focused on longevity and stable performance. Packaging and delivery for bulk supply would likely address the needs of distributors or project-level buyers targeting full furnace cooling system maintenance or upgrades.

Working principles of cooling stave
Through surface cooling, the heat transferred from the blast furnace can be smoothly exported to prevent the high-temperature heat flow from directly reaching the furnace shell, and the cooling stave is installed between the brick lining and the furnace shell to achieve this effect. For modern blast furnaces with full cooling stave structure, staves or water cooling plates are installed on the furnace shell from the furnace bottom to the furnace throat, forming a fully cooled furnace body structure. The heat from the blast furnace is transferred to the environment through the cooling water through the heat exchange with the cooling wall.
