The throat armour stave is located at the BF throat.
Throat armour for the protection of an outer shielding of a blast furnace against wear above the charge, comprising plates of nodular graphite cast iron fixed to the outer shielding.
keep the refractory or steel brick inside the furnace from being blasted by gas flow;
reduce refractory or steel brick wear and increase service life.
